In this small corner of the internet, I have started an obscure blog that probably no one will read. Maybe if I share it with friends and family they’ll read it less out of curiosity and more out of pity because there’s no one else to find this small website among an entire abyss of internet. Oh how an insignificant person I am on this planet of billions of people, but I digress…
Took a bit of a detour, but properly, hello there! You can read a bit more about me on the About page (that has yet to be fully updated, as with the rest of this site), but to start, I’m a Southern Californian native who has recently moved to rural Japan (yes, in the midst of ongoing Covid, but really, it’s not ending ever) as part of the JET Program(me). Specifically, I’m placed in the Hokkaido countryside, which means I get snow for the first time in my life! Exciting, and a bit nerve wracking since I hear the snow can actually get pretty bad here, but I’ll deal with it.
I actually arrived in Japan on the evening of July 24. Before I left, I was going to start this blog (as in clean up the template, make all the pages) and start doing some posts on a normal basis once I arrived. That plan obviously got derailed as I did not finish those tasks, and then got lazy with the lack of good internet and motivation. However, I really figured that since I have some free time to kill at school, and I really wanted to keep a semi-diary of my time here, I’m going to at least write some posts from time to time (when I find the effort to), and clean up the rest of the site at a different time.
So again, hello, welcome, and hope you enjoy your stay!
